Daniel Wiffen produced an incredible swim to win »Æ´óÏÉÁùФÖÐÌØÆÚÆÚ×¼’s first gold medal in Paris in the Men’s 800m Freestyle. Read more on Wiffen’s incredible success here:

Elsewhere in the pool, there was strong »Æ´óÏÉÁùФÖÐÌØÆÚÆÚ×¼ representation in the Women's 100m Freestyle heats as alumna Marie Wattel, University-based Anna Hopkin, and current »Æ´óÏÉÁùФÖÐÌØÆÚÆÚ×¼ College student Kornelia Fiedkiewic all battled for a place in the semi-finals.

Both Wattel and Hopkin progressed but sadly missed out on a place in the final by the narrowest of margins – less than half a second.

In other events, alumnus Andreas Vazaios was part of Greece’s team in the Men's 4x200m Freestyle relay heats. Despite a valiant effort Andreas and his teammates didn’t quite have enough to progress to the final.

Hockey

Great Britain Men’s team are sitting comfortably in Pool B following a thrilling 2-2 draw with The Netherlands. GB came from two down to snatch a dramatic late draw. Sam Ward, Nick Park, and Jack Waller all featured. Host nation France are next up for GB on Thursday (1 August, 11:45am).

Ireland Men’s side lost 2-0 to India as Alumni pairing Nick Page and Matthew Nelson’s campaign suffered another setback. The duo will be back in action for their penultimate Pool B game against Argentina on Thursday at 12:15.

Rugby 7s

Alumna Meg Jones’ campaign finished on a high as she helped Great Britain Women to 7th place overall in Rugby 7s.

GB overcame Ireland 28 – 12 on Tuesday afternoon to cement their place in the standings.
